Unlocking The Grove for the Quest Step
Before you can locate the pest problem, you must advance your relationship with Gaston until he sends you to consult Rapunzel in the Grasslands. She recalls seeing a thick swarm of bugs tucked deep inside The Grove, which serves as a major sub-area of the Wild Tangle. Unlocking access to this biome costs 4,000 Mist, which can be gathered quickly by clearing Swirling Sands or completing daily Mist Duties.

Exact Location of the Swarming Insects
To pinpoint the swarming insects, head toward the far top-right corner of The Grove near the riverbank and waterfall close to the Promenade border. You will notice a dark cloud of black bugs hovering around a stone pedestal near three large river rocks. Players who play with full sound enabled can also rely on a distinct buzzing noise that gets louder as exploration brings you closer.
Positioning yourself directly in front of the buzzing cloud allows you to proceed with the next quest requirement. Opening your camera mode and capturing a photo of the cluster will officially update your quest log.
Crafting Carnivorous Floral Arrangements
After taking the photograph, return to Rapunzel to discuss how to disperse the aggressive pests guarding the relic. She will supply a recipe for Carnivorous Floral Arrangements designed to devour the bug swarm safely. You will need to gather Green Fly Traps, Purple Fly Traps, Red Pitcher Plants, Yellow Pitcher Plants, and Tropical Wood across the Wild Tangle biomes.
Head over to any nearby crafting station to assemble two of these specialized floral items. Once crafted, carry them back to the exact spot where you originally found the bug infestation in The Grove.
Clearing the Swarm and Claiming the Scarab Piece
Place both floral arrangements on the ground right next to the bug-infested pedestal to trigger the clearing process. After stepping away briefly to check in on Gaston, return to the riverbank to find that the plants have eaten the insects completely. The pedestal will now be completely clear, allowing you to pick up the Jungle Scarab Piece lying on top.
Taking this damaged item to a Timebending Table along with Mist and Dream Shards allows you to repair the relic fully. Completing this task brings you one step closer to opening the Cave of Wonders alongside your villagers.
